AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT has been to GeekBench! 5% faster?

In response to the recent Intel Core 10000, AMD quickly announced that it was preparing a refresh to its super successful Ryzen 3000 in the form of the Ryzen 3600 XT, 3800XT and 3900XT! Processors that apparently only bring higher boost frequencies as well as a higher OC potential.

But what will be the difference in performance in practice, without moving OCs manually? Well, the Ryzen 9 3900XT has already given an air of its grace in GeekBench, so you can already draw some conclusions.

AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT has been to GeekBench! 5% faster?

So, as is normal in these things, some performance leaks have already begun to appear. At the end of the day, the first samples of the new processors are already in the usual places to be tested.

Well, the well-known TUM_APISAK discovered a submission on GeekBench 5.1 with a 12-core, 24-thread Ryzen 9 3900XT, mounted on a Gigabyte X570 AORUS Master motherboard, with 16GB of DDR4 RAM at 3600MHz, achieving 10,945 points in the multi-thread test, and 1324 points on the single-thread test. That is, an increase of ~5% compared to the original version of the processor released in July 2019.

In short, AMD just wanted to release something to try to nullify intel’s small advantage in IPC, while increasing the advantage in the world of multi-threading. But is 5% enough to drive consumers away from the 3900X? Especially now that this processor should lower even more price?
