iPhone 12

As you may know, when it comes to mobile processors, Apple is almost always at the forefront! After all, this is one of the main reasons why the iPhone is what it is on the market.

That said, after a rather 'short' performance jump in the last 2 generations (iPhone XS -> A12 and iPhone 11 -> A13), it seems that Apple is ready to take a leap as it should be, breaking some records by way!

Therefore, the not yet released or even announced Apple A14, should be the first mobile processor based on ARM cores capable of exceeding 3GHz frequency! That is, the successor to the current A13 chip that gives life to the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro, should reach 3.1GHz, this according to a recent benchmark leak from the GeekBench 4 program.

To be aware of the increase in frequency, we are talking about a 400MHz, since the current A13 Bionic has reached the market capable of reaching 2.7Ghz.

What does this mean?

Very briefly, in addition to the architectural improvements, the performance of the Apple A14 will rise 25% in single-thread, and 33% in multi-thread. A very significant performance increase, considering the results of today's top smartphones.

Interestingly, in addition to the increase in performance and frequency. The new Apple A14 are also expected to be vastly more efficient due to the use of TSMC's brand new 5nm process. (Mass production should start as early as next April)

In addition to all this, it is also likely that Apple will start betting strong and ugly on the integration of these same chips in their MacBook notebooks, to escape the dominance of Intel and AMD in this space.
