Until now, all the information showed that the Microsoft I was very busy with the development of the new Windows 10X. This is a new simplified operating system that focuses on devices with two monitors. Now, information that began to circulate on the Internet shows that Microsoft has postponed this operating system beyond 2020. In addition, the Surface Neo, a PC with two screens that would arrive in mid-summer has also been postponed.
New Windows 10X and Surface Neo may have a shaky future
Apparently, the company is refocusing on devices that have only one screen. The source says that with this crisis of COVID-19 and with all the adjacent problems, people are not exactly turned to these news. Interestingly, the new information does not reveal anything about the Surface Duo with Android. It is true that it can still arrive in 2020, but it is unlikely. After all, this manufacturer is also being affected by the breaches of protection caused by the new coronavirus.
Interestingly, the COVID-19 that could lead to the postponement of the Surface Duo, was also the one that made possible the development of this equipment. In March, due to this outbreak, Microsoft advised its employees to work from home. This is what prompted Microsoft senior director Frank Shaw to post a photo of his “home office” on Twitter. Behold, the Surface Duo was right there, in the bottom left corner of the photo.
As for the specifications, this foldable is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset. To this is added 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. But there may be other variants of RAM and storage in the future. However, the Surface Duo does not support 5G connectivity, which is a shame, considering that most of the major smartphones recently launched have support for the next generation mobile network.
Although the Surface Duo will be very interesting, the Surface Neo is not far behind. This second device reveals the features of Windows 10X. It has two 9-inch screens connected via a physical hinge.
With no official confirmation from Microsoft regarding postponements, we can only wait for more information.
