NVIDIA is about to announce its new Ampere architecture, which should replace the current and very popular Turing architecture that brings GeForce RTX graphics to life.
That said, now that the RTX 2000 is about to be 2 years old since they hit the market, consumers are in awe to finally realize what the graphics card giant has to offer! Especially now that AMD is slowly becoming a rival worthy of the name.

Therefore, a new rumor suggests the use of TSMC's 7nm process for the new 'business' cards, while NVIDIA GeForce gaming cards should be based on Samsung's 10nm process.
Thus, we should see 5 completely different Ampere GPUs, with GA102 being the most powerful version, with the great mission to succeed the super popular RTX 2080 Ti…. That is, this will be the GPU that will bring the RTX 3080 Ti to life!
Later on we have GA103 (which has no equivalent in the current range), GA104, GA106 and finally GA107. All GPUs that are expected to be produced on Samsung's 10nm lines, including the GA107 low-end GPU.
The NVIDIA Ampere GA102 GPU will be an authentic graphics beast!
With 5376 CUDA cores in its full version that should give life to a new TITAN RTX. What is clear, means that the RTX 3080 Ti will have a slightly capped version of this same GPU. (Just like the current RTX 2080 Ti)
However, it is likely that NVIDIA will continue with the already 'leaked' 24GB of GDDR6 memory on the Titan version, while the RTX 3080 Ti is expected to be at 11, 12 or 16GB of memory.
The next range of graphics cards should look something like this:
- GA102 – 84 SMs / 5376 CUDA / 12GB GDDR6 / 384-bit bus – 140% faster than RTX 2080 Ti
- GA103 – 60 SMs / 3840 CUDA / 10GB GDDR6 / 320-bit bus – 110% faster than RTX 2080 Ti
- GA104 – 48 SMs / 3072 CUDA / 8GB GDDR6 / 256-bit bus – 5% faster than RTX 2080 Ti
Interestingly, as you may already know, in recent weeks there have been some rumors on the Internet that the new generation of graphics cards Ampere would arrive with a 50% performance increase, while efficiency would also increase 100%. Something that seems too good to be true.
But with these specs … Maybe it's a real boost!
