Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 that is currently felt, many games have had their release date postponed (as is the case for The Last Of Us Part 2). And as such, it is still unclear whether next generation consoles will continue with their release date for the end of the year, or if there will be changes by Sony and / or Microsoft.
That said, we know that Sony has been having some problems with the PS5's cooling system. Which in truth, we can admit that it has caused a little panic for those responsible for the next generation console. After all, at a time like this in the championship these types of problems are exactly those that could not be happening. In other words, Sony seems to be tied hands and feet …
PS5 with overheating problems? Sony is in a panic!
So, it seems that AMD's 7nm processor and the ultra-fast PCIe 4.0 SSD implemented in the console are generating extra heat for the cooling system Sony has chosen for next generation hardware.
So, if the problem is not resolved quickly, Sony will be forced to redesign the entire cooling system and perhaps even the console body itself. Which honestly is not going to be any good at this point in the championship, especially when we see the Xbox Series X pumping up in an incredible way.
Which interestingly explains why the Japanese giant has not yet revealed the console publicly… After all, you still don't know if you can!
In short, it seems that Sony is in a huge mess for which there is still no solution. And this could really affect the launch of the PS5 if nothing is done in the near future.
