If you do not know Corsair, we are talking about a PC memory manufacturer that originally opened doors in 1994, first starting with the production of COST modules and later betting on the production of DRAM chips, which in turn give life to our well loved RAM.

However, we are already in 2020, and obviously a lot has changed, especially within Corsair! Since we are talking about a company that produces mice, keyboards, fonts, boxes, fans, keyboards, and even sells complete PCs! But one thing has always remained the same, Corsair remains one of the leading manufacturers in the RAM market. And as you can imagine, the latest release of RAM Dominar Platinum is further proof of that.

Therefore, this RAM launched on the 2nd of June 2020, is basically a 'refresh' to the excellent Dominator Platinum RGB modules launched last year! The first RAM modules on the market to feature CAPPELLIX LEDs.

That said, the new model, in addition to the white color (very 'sexy'), also brings some changes in the design of the heatsink, with some details in gold, which in fact gives another premium aspect to the thing.

But let's get down to business! Technical specifications and performance.

Product and Performance Summary

At first glance, you might think that Corsair thought a lot about the design of its RAM, maybe even more … But this does not mean that the brand also did not do exactly the same with the performance itself.

In fact, this was one of the only memory kits that I had the pleasure of assembling on a Ryzen system, connecting the XMP profile, and the guy starting up without any problem! All of this on an X570 Taichi board with an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X processor.

The brand itself re-affirms its mission to offer the best possible performance. Now read:

“Our memory chips are handpicked and rigorously tested before being mounted on a robust 10-layer PCB. Our goal is to offer the best possible performance, while leaving a good space for overclocking and stability in the same field. That is why Dominator Platinum RGB modules continue to make use of the patented ‘Dual-Channel DHX’ cooling technology, with the ultimate goal of keeping chips fresh even in the most demanding environments. ”


As we said above, this product is a simple 'refresh' to what was launched last year. Therefore, the performance should be very similar if not the same. Still, we left some tests on a system consisting of a Ryzen 3900X and ASRock Taichi X570 motherboard.

The benchmarks below serve to validate speed, timings and stability.

At the OC level, I managed to reach 3800MHz without changing the voltage and timings, which once again really surprised me with this Corsair memory kit.

RGB lighting (iCUE)

As this launch is more focused on the appearance of the product, we will have to analyze the thing in this department.

Therefore, just like in the old models, Capellix lighting is a differentiating factor for Corsair. After all, with iCUE, we can customize the various LEDs of the modules in such a way that it is almost impossible to put everything here.

After all, in addition to extensive customization, we also have several pre-defined effects at our disposal that will most likely be more than enough for the laziest users, who do not have the patience to move LED to LED, but still want an authentic light show on your PC. These are some of the pre-programmed effects:

  • Rainbow Wave – The selected modules will color the lighting while the flow goes in one direction. (Speed ​​and direction can be customized)
  • Spiral Rainbow – The selected modules will have a rainbow spiral effect.
  • Color Shift – The modules will change color to color in unison.
  • Color Pulse – The modules will change color to color gradually, in pulses.
  • Rain – Rain effect in a single direction.
  • Sequential – The modules will create an effect in which each one will turn on and off at the same time.
  • Static Color – Just one color.

In addition to the lighting customization, there are other technical aspects in the iCUE, since we can see some features instantly, such as the current speed of the modules as well as their timings.


The price of these modules will obviously depend on the capacity, speed and timings you choose. In addition, we must bear in mind that we are talking about a top-of-the-range product, the most equipped Corsair has to offer in 2020.

Having said all that, the kit impressed both the performance and the aesthetics! Gaining a prominent place on my personal machine. So if you want the RAM back, Corsair will have to send ninjas here to get it back.

However, if you already have branded products with iCUE software support, then here is the best possible solution for your machine, since you can control everything from a single program! In fact, I suspect that this is the great goal of the brand! By offering a superior ecosystem, to keep consumers securely locked in their world.

Finally, if you already have a system with some white components, this RAM will certainly fill your measurements, even considering that it is not a ‘cheap’ product.
