We already know the designs of the two new generation consoles, as well as some of the games that should accompany both releases. However, we still don’t know anything about the price… After all, the latest information points to Microsoft doing everything to ‘undercut’ rival Sony, meaning the ‘normal’ Xbox Series X should be cheaper than the ‘normal’ PS5.
The problem is that Sony already expected this strategy, and so announced the PS5 ‘Digital Edition’, which should be between 50~100€ cheaper than the model with the Blu-Ray player. But… it seems that Microsoft also already has an answer for this!
Sony should steal this strategy from Microsoft!
So, as you may know, Microsoft is also preparing a low cost console to ruin Sony’s strategy! The Xbox Series S (also known as Lockhart). However, the north American giant’s efforts do not stick around, since Microsoft’s great advantage in the market, is even its Xbox All Access.
If you don’t know what ‘All Access’ is, we’re talking about a subscription program, which basically adds xbox game pass and Xbox Live Gold tuition to your console performance. Something that in Microsoft’s opinion will be critical to the release of new generation consoles, especially in this pandemic time.
At the end of the day, if there’s a company that’s aware of the impact of COVID-19 on the world economy, it’s Microsoft. And as such, the North American giant is betting even more on this strategy, to stay ahead of Sony. After all, as I have been saying, Microsoft is not even playing in 2020, the company wants the throne of Sony.
In short, Xbox All Access will allow many players to make the leap to the next generation without having to sell a kidney or lung on the black market. What of course is, it will give a very interesting boost to the rival of the PS5.
