Last year, Xiaomi revealed accidentally the latest version of its interface that runs on top of the Android operating system, MIUI 11. It seems that this year the same thing happened again. This leak came from inside the beta version of MiSettings that was made available on this manufacturer's forum. An important point to remember is that Xiaomi really wants to change a lot. Apparently we even have a new design language on the Xiaomi MIUI 12.
Xiaomi MIUI 12: here are the first screenshots ever!
Of course, however, Xiaomi has already removed this “novelty”. However, XDA I had already taken some beautiful screenshots that you can see below.
The new interface appears to be inconsistent in some ways but it is possible to observe the changes in the update and also the time on the screen. Let's look in detail at some of these new features.
Right away, we already know that the new MIUI 12 will arrive with a new navigation bar and gestures. We will also have, in parallel, a new multi-task feature with animations. Likewise, the new camera interface and a perfect dark mode stand out.
However, we will also be able to count on a new notification system. This was basically what we already knew.
The MIUI 12 functionality regarding screen time allows users to understand the rate of use of the screen in a day. This is a very important feature, because it is the smartphone screen that consumes the most energy. However, the new interface shows that you can obtain information hourly, daily or weekly about the use of the panel. We also obtain information about the energy spent with each application. This is something that I have access to on my smartphone but to be honest I never give it much importance. Eventually I used it once to see if there was any stranger application on the smartphone that was expending a lot of energy.
The focus mode is easy to see what it's for. It is the one that we will want to use when we intend to focus on any other task. The method of use is quite simple. If we need to do something and we don't want to be interrupted, we activate this mode in a time window that can go from 20 to 180 minutes. At that time the smartphone will not bother you and all notifications will be automatically silenced.
Another novelty is the anti-flicker mode. That is, for the screen not to shake, especially in low light conditions.
Finally, a mode that relates to the update rate also appears in the same section.
